Alex’s 1st Birthday

What’s throwing one more party right?? At this point I was planning it in my sleep. I had started crafting a lot of things MONTHS in advance. I also have another great tip….I will always plan a party on a Sunday. I had such an easy time using all day Saturday to cook, clean, decorate etc. It was the best! We tried to keep the numbers down so we ended up with about 30 adults and 12 kids. 12 kids doesn’t sound bad, but it was pretty much mayhem. Another party tip: putting blown up balloons on the floor is a big hit for kids of all ages. It kept them entertained for hours! Alex was pretty irritated by all the action (shocker) so he was attached to my hip all day. And he wasn’t really impressed with our singing the happy birthday song. But it was a great day and a huge success due to my 3rd tip: Skip the BBQ if you can. I made yummy chicken salad sandwiches that were ready to eat right away. They were a big hit and Henry wasn’t stuck by the hot BBQ all day. Bonus! Enjoy the pics.
