This post is over due since this happened last month, but its still worth mentioning. As you know, this was on my list to do I can’t even tell you how much fun I had. 6 of us girls from my Mom group went out to dinner and then hit this spot called Painted. Its an open studio/boutique type place where you all sit in a row and pain the same painting. Our night happened to fall on a Sunflower painting. We were late so we had to scramble a bit to all get set up and situated. We got a set of brushes, a paper plate with different colors already portioned out, and our canvas. Step by step our teacher helped us through the painting. I had SO much fun and wish I had the time to do this weekly. It made me remember how much I liked working with paint. As a kid, my Mom always had us drawing and painting or doing some type of art class so it kinda brought me back to being a kid. Of course there was a lot of giggling going on. One girl was always 3 steps behind for some reason. And the paint portions didn’t cover how much white paint our painting required, so we all kept saying, “I need more white!”. Our paintings were all very different by the end and I think everyone was game to do this painting gig again. An art teacher once told me after I threw one of my drawings away, that despite your own criticisms, your creations are never ugly. So I’m displaying my “non-ugly” sunflower in the kitchen for now. Good times. Try it sometime. I promise you’ll have fun. Just make sure you have plenty of white paint.
