For months I thought I was going to hire some one to paint Chloe’s room. Then the weeks started to fly by and nothing progressed. And after realizing we only have about 6 weeks to go, I started to panic. So I said F-it! and decided to tackle this project on our own. How hard can it be?? I’m pretty ocd when it comes to stuff like paint so I was confident in my taping skills. Then Henry got the paint bug too and wanted to help. Yikes. While Henry has over-seen massive remodels for both Pubs, he doesn’t tackle any of it himself. I joke that his motto is “get it done as quick as possible” which doesn’t bode well for a detailed project such as this. But I let him go with the painters tape and thought I’d check his work if it sucked. And much to my surprise, it wasn’t that bad! I had to re-do the corners, light switch, and socket plates, but other than that, it looked OK. I decided not to nitpick about the stuff up high since no one sees that and lord knows I do not want to be lunging up and down off a chair to fix a tiny taping error. Yesterday we bought one gallon to start with (Behr- Light Mulberry with the eggshell finish), a few additional supplies, and asked a lot of questions. After dinner at Henry’s folks house, I was itching to start. Henry wanted to watch a movie. So I sat my humpty dumpty ass on the floor and went to work on walls around the baseboards. 10 mins later Henry comes in an grabs a brush. đŸ™‚ It was pretty fun and after removing the tape I realized we did a decent job. Here are the progress pics so far. I am excited to grab a roller tonight and really start to go to town. Fingers crossed that this might even be done by next weekend and I can start arranging the massive pile o’ shit in the middle of the room. The lighting in the pics stinks since it was 9:00 pm and the paint was still wet, but you can get the idea. More to come!!
