I’m behind on these posts, so here was the latest at her 6 month mark….
I just took C in for her 6 month check up and she is 15 lbs 12 oz (50%), and 25.5″ long (40%). I forget the stats, but her head clocks in at 70%!! Jeez! Sadly, I think that’s my genetics.
Her newest talent is starting to babble. No “DaDa” yet, but lots of “wawa” and “baba”. Trust me, I’m working hard on MaMa. Its time to even that score…especially with how much work I’ve had to put in on this one. She is still rolling over like a champ and sitting up on her own is SOOOO close. Right now she just leans forward and ends up folded in half. And when you leave her on the floor, in a few minutes she is across the room via barrel rolls and some army crawling. Crawling seems awfully close too. Then shit is really going to hit the fan.
There has been some progress this last month in the sleep department. We now only wake up 2-3 times for the paci and once for a feeding. Doesn’t sound that great, but I’m actually getting a good solid 5-6 hr stretch of sleep right now. Unless Henry kicks me so I’m the one to get out of bed for Paci duty. What.a.dick. Our Dr. told me that she sleeps like shit because we run to her when she cries at night and knows that we’ll come get her. He’s another dick. Just kidding again. I really like our pediatrician. But not sure I can let her cry it out yet. She still seems too young for that. And on top of that, her crying at 4 am will not only wake up Alex, but it also kills any chance of my sleeping from 4 til my alarm goes off at 5:45 a.m. Pass-adena!
She is very charming though, I will say that. She smiles at everyone who talks to her and is pretty good about letting people hold her. I take full advantage of this. Anytime friends or family are around I say, “Here. Take her.” She also does this cute thing where she grabs your face with her hands or grabs your nose. She still loves bath time and is always very content and relaxed in the water. I give her a bath EVERY night before bed to just get her warm and tired. It helps get her ready for bed….sadly, it does nothing for helping her STAY asleep. This baby is unlike anything I could have imagined. She’s strong, smart, and is going to be one hell of a teenager.
I’m stilllll pumping which I’m pretty proud of. C still only has 1 formula bottle a day which I’m also proud of. I figure, as long as I still got it, I’m going to use the good stuff. We started baby food this month as well. I have made the food myself….again, proud. She shockingly does NOT like apples. She makes this sour face and then her whole body shivers. Too funny. Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Bananas, Mashed Potatoes, Peas, and Beans are a hit so far. I just got Green Beans and Pears to try next. I despise the baby food phase. Its messy, stains clothes, and makes for smelly poops. Which coincidentally isn’t all that bad with the cloth diapers. I scrape what I can off into the toilet (gross, I know) and wash normally. Sorry for the graphic description, but what’s a little poop between friends? The food has also been making her constipated. Which I never understood. How does fruit and veggies make one stopped up?!?
These pics are again from my bestie, Nicole. She’s outdone herself again!!
