Garden Update 8/26

Well, the garden is still going strong except from a few sad looking spots. Some leaves on our tomatoes are turning yellow/brown (bottomed branches only) and the squash leaves look….. not right. Might be a disease or something. Take a look.

Our herbs, carrots, and beets look really good.

Our Japanese pumpkins look like the are done growing and now turning a little yellow. Gotta research what that means and if they are edible. We have about 6 growing right now. Along with three of our Cinderella pumpkins that are growing well.

Our plan for the winter is to turn over the soil and compost for one season. Anything we grow will just be in big pots. I’m gonna give this sprouted garlic a whirl! Apparently, you just throw it in the dirt and that’s it. Doesn’t even have to be sprouting like this lil’ guy.

Henry wants to do potatoes, too. Butternut squash might be kinda cool. Mmmmmmm soup. I’m not gonna lie. I’m ready for the cold weather and hot chocolate. I’m getting ahead if myself. It’s still technically August. Anyone not sick of tomatoes yet?!
