Garden Update (8/6)

Here is what the garden looks like this week. Lots of sun gold baby tomatoes. They are so sweet and delicious. The tiger striped ones are finally turning red. The green sweet peppers have come through, as well. I just picked a bunch of eggplants off to see if that helps the plant flourish more. Those little guys have been that size for a month. I think the fact that Henry moved the plant into the ground really pissed it off. Which really bums me out because that is the one plant I was most excited about. I love me some eggplant. Lets hope that trimming does the trick and I can get ONE good eggplant off that thing this summer. The carrots in the pots are sprouting and looking super green and lush. The last few pics are an interesting twist to this garden story. See that creeping, sprawling ground vine thingy? (that’s a technical term) Apparently, at some point, a bird took a crap in our garden, and a seed from its poop started growing. And it’s a freaking pumpkin!! That green gourd is about the size of a mini basketball right now, but it will for sure get giant. Not sure what the hell to do with that thing when it’s done growing but maybe it’ll last til Halloween. There are two currently growing and the damn plant has woven its way into every nook and crannie of the garden. Side note, we also purposely planted THREE Cinderella pumpkin plants too. Jesus. You’ll probably see us in the news with the house covered in fucking vines. Maybe we should open a patch and charge admission? Ok, I’m cracking myself up right now because its past my bedtime and I’m blogging about pumpkins. Have a gourd night. THANK YOU! I’LL BE HERE ALL WEEK! Tip your waitress.
