Alex’s first Giants game

A friend from high school posted on FB that she was trying to offload tickets to a Giants game. Three tickets. Sunday game at 1:00. The stars aligned, right? So I jumped on em. The seats were in deep right field with great foul ball potential. I’m not sure who was more excited. Alex to see his favorite players or me to watch him take it all in. We were very close to Hunter Pence, or “under pants” as Alex likes to mispronounce. We had hot dogs, giant pretzels, chicken strips and fries. (I had a portabello sandwich). And it took all the strength I had to forego the Ghirardelli ice cream sundaes. Holy shit those things look awesome. Moving on.
The weather was perfect. No sunburns. And there was one foul ball that got really close. About 5-6 rows back. I was quietly shitting my pants and shielding my son’s beautiful face. He was so sweet the whole time. Rooting for both teams, even. Each player that got announced, he would gasp and say “Look, guys! It’s Scutaro!!” (Or whoever it was). Just pure excitement. He had no clue that his favorite team got a good beating that day. He just looked up and said, “I’m really excited to be here.” Are you crying yet? Yeah, me too.
Can’t wait to do it again!
