Today was our first full day of vacation. We all needed it. Even Alex has been asking us “not to go to work” almost everyday. Dagger through my heart. So we have the whole week here at the family home. The house is right on the Northstar Golf Course and we get access to the rec center which is very kid friendly. Pool, activities, tennis, arcade. These kids will go nuts in a few years when they are older and I can ditch them here for the whole day. And I’m definitely bringing a box of wine to enjoy while I leather my skin by the pool. Yes, I’m that girl. Anyways, this week should be awesome. So far, we are off to a positive start. The kids slept the majority of the way up, no traffic, no one barfed, and Chloe was quiet in bed this morning til I got her at NINE A.M.
Today we all had breakfast, showered, and hit the store for provisions. Chloe napped while Henry took Alex to the driving range. This was a HUGE hit. He came home crying because he didn’t want to leave. The folks at the range took a liking to Alex (naturally) and gave us a some free tokens for buckets of balls. I’m predicting that this will be a daily activity all week. Fine by me. I got a couple hours to myself to have lunch and read. Reading?! What’s that? Tomorrow, my folks will show up. Then Thursday, Mari and Dom too. I’m enjoying every second of this. I have such fond memories of my family vacations and I hope my nuggets do too.
This is Chloe rearranging the Fabreeze aisle. 10 minutes of fun. I guess being the in the cart was too boring.
Hitting balls on the course.
Lunch time.
Playing with an iron statue that lives on the floor in a corner. We need to baby proof this house a bit more.
Throwing every golf ball onto the floor. She only smashed her fingers on the lid once. Winning.
Lamenting his mother who takes too many photos of him.
Enjoying Pirate Booty.
Running around like a mad woman.
Attacking Dad.
Dinner on the deck. It lasted 10 minutes until the diva was over it.
After Chloe went down, the whole house went silent. Alex relished the quiet by playing with his trains.
