This morning, I got up at a luxurious 8:30 a.m. with both kids still sleeping. I’m going to pay tribute to the mountain air for our restful mornings (and the sofa bed for my stiff neck). We had a quick breakfast and headed out to kill some time at the village before Yiayia and Papou arrived. Alex really wanted to go golfing instead and was pissed for 10 minutes til he saw a toy store. A yo-yo purchase helped the situation. How the hell does he know what a yo-yo is?! Or that he knows he needs one! Later he told me that he was “so happy to have a yo-yo.” Ha!

We came back and ate lunch and did a bit of wrestle-mania in the living room. Then once my folks arrived, the boys went off the play golf and the girls rested and read books. 2 hours of quiet does wonders for my sanity. The noise sometimes reaches and ungodly level in our household. And I only have two children!! I’m a wuss, what can I say.

Once the guys were back and Chloe was up, we all just sort of lounged on the deck for awhile. Wine, snacks, children running around….vacation.
We had an enormous bounty of home grown tomatoes that we brought up and we thought that a big batch of spaghetti sounded brilliant. Not much work goes into a great sauce, you know that?. 5 ingredients and “simmah”. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in awhile and everyone practically scarfed in silence.

We chose to let the little man skip his nap to make the bedtime go smoother. (It worked by the way) Alex got some special reading time with his yiayia and zzzzzzzz. Success!!
Next up, pool time tomorrow!
Now here’s some sweet golfing shots of the dude today. Don’t you just love the tongue sticking out for concentration?
