Here is my latest concoction. Roasted sweet potatoes with lemon, evoo, and a touch of Cheyenne pepper mixed with steamed pears. I like mixing a fruit with a veggie so that each cube is nicely balanced. I do apples with either spinach, carrots, or squash. I did a super weird in the other day…squash, apples, one clove of roasted garlic, and cilantro. I just watched a food documentary that said cilantro is a must eat food so I said what the hell. And she ate it! It smells pretty garlicky but it’s good to get her used to more adult flavored now. Plus, it’s good for her and she’s the only one in this house who doesn’t fight me on the healthy fare. It’s been pretty fun making her food and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is tempted to try.

I give her two cubes per meal. That whole batch prob cost about $3 at the farmers market. Two tips: I prefer the cube trays over the fancy mini containers. It’s easier to store in the freezer and thaw out. Next tip, save the water from the pot when you steam your food. It comes in handy when you need to thin out your food in the processor/blender.
